APRIL: PINK FULL MOON

April’s Full Moon in Native American folklore is called Pink Moon, which was named after all the budding trees and all the new growth occurring. In most places in North America life is teaming in an explosion of color. The energy of the plants is moving from the roots into the stems and soon into the budding fruits that give us nourishment.

Other names for April’s Full Moon are The Moon of the Red Grass Appearing, Budding Moon, New Shoots Moon, Seed Moon, and Growing Moon. A Neo-Pagan name is Awakening Moon. Meanwhile, in colder regions April is known as the Breaking Ice Moon, a time when the ice is melting and breaking apart.
